My book is now available to pre-order!

It won’t be out until November, still, but I’m told that pre-orders do a lot to boost a book’s profile – it’s all about the algorithms, apparently.

Where did the book come from?

Well, I’m 47 and still single, and surprisingly content! But it wasn’t always that way. Oh, mostly I’ve been reasonably happy – I’ve got a good life, I’ve had some wonderful jobs and great friends – but there was just that one thing, nagging away underneath. That one thing that I felt was missing in life. I felt as though my life was on hold until the final piece slotted into place.

And in a way I guess it was. But the final piece wasn’t what I thought it was. I didn’t need a husband to fill the gap in my life. I needed what Betsie ten Boom found, what Elisabeth Elliott found, what the apostle Paul found. I needed to find my source of joy somewhere outside my circumstances, somewhere above and beyond them.

A couple of years ago I realised that my prayers around marriage had changed. I’d gone from begging God to bring me a husband soon, through ‘OK, give me your will… but if that could include a husband, that would be great…any time…’ But now my prayers on the topic were different, which is to say, they were non-existent. I had found the contentment I’d been looking for.
